Tracking your environmental impacts
Any hotel getting started on their sustainability journey will need to understand their environmental performance. Quantifying your current impacts (e.g. energy use, water use and waste production) enables you to set targets and track your progress against it.
The Utilities Tracker enables you to keep track of your energy and water consumption and waste production in your hotel.
Who is it for?
Those responsible for monitoring environmental data, typically engineers, hotel managers or sustainability leads/teams.

Once you have completed a year’s worth of data, the totals for energy, water, waste and occupancy can be used in the Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative, Hotel Water Measurement Initiative and Hotel Waste Measurement Methodology to create a baseline for your property. This can then be benchmarked against the rest of the industry using the Cornell Hotel Sustainability Benchmark Index.
