The World Sustainable Hospitality Alliance (the Alliance) is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Sun Guangbin, Senior Vice President of JA Solar, as a Senior Strategic Advisor for Asia. In this pivotal role, Mr. Sun will leverage his extensive expertise in international trade, renewable energy, and corporate affairs to provide strategic guidance to the Alliance’s leadership team – helping to advance sustainable hospitality across Asia and the industry as a whole. His profound understanding of market dynamics will be instrumental in shaping the Alliance’s initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable practices within the hospitality sector.

Mr. Sun boasts a remarkable career spanning over two decades, beginning with his tenure at the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME) since 1997, where he held several leadership positions, including Deputy Secretary General and Secretary General of the CCCME Solar Photovoltaic Products Sub-Committee. His efforts in representing Chinese industry in antidumping negotiations with the EU and United States underscored his commitment to advancing the solar sector. Since joining JA Solar in 2015, Mr. Sun has overseen critical departments including ESG Management, Strategic Development, Human Resources, Legal Affairs and Compliance, and has been a driving force in the company’s sustainability initiatives.

His influence extends beyond corporate borders as he currently holds several leadership roles in key industry associations, such as Vice Secretary General of the China Photovoltaic Industry Association (CPIA) and Chairman of the New Energy Committee of the China Association of Electric Power Education. Additionally, Mr. Sun contributes to academic and policy advisory work as a visiting professor at various institutions and an advisor to the New Energy Intelligent Manufacturing Committee at the China Energy Research Society.

In his new role with the Alliance, Mr. Sun will be responsible for advising on long-term strategic initiatives, cultivating partnerships, and acting as a senior representative at key industry events with a focus on renewable energy and standards. His unique ability to navigate complex stakeholder networks will enhance the Alliance’s mission to promote sustainable hospitality across Asia and the broader industry.
