The Sustainable Hospitality Alliance (the Alliance) is pleased to welcome Rabmer Group to their affiliate membership, as they become the latest member to join the network for responsible hospitality, alongside hotel companies Whitbread and The Merrion.
These organisations will work together, along with the Alliance’s other affiliate and hotel members, to leverage the collective power of the industry to make a lasting positive impact for the planet and its inhabitants. With Rabmer Group, the Alliance now has 9 affiliate members, which represent other partners in the hospitality value chain to further drive collaboration on industry sustainability.
Consisting of seven companies, Rabmer Group operates in three main areas: construction, real estate, and environmental technology. Having been active in environmental technology worldwide for almost 30 years, Rabmer particularly focus on water, wastewater, and renewable energies.
A quarter of the world’s population face “extremely high” levels of water stress1 – yet, in some locations, tourism uses over eight times more water per person on average than the local population.2 What’s more, tourism accounts for approximately 8% of global emissions,3 1% of which is attributed to the hotel sector.4
In response to this imbalance, as the hospitality industry works to play a key role in the global transition to a sustainable future, Rabmer’s experience in innovative environmental technology will provide crucial insight and inspiration for the Alliance and its donor members, as we build momentum towards a more regenerative sector that gives back more than it takes.
Ulrike Rabmer-Koller, General Manager at Rabmer Group, said:
“Sustainability in the hospitality sector is not only a trend – it is the basis for future profits. Investments in sustainability not only save the environment they mostly reduce the running costs and increase profit. There are lots of small steps, which can have a big impact. ‘Building a better future’ has long been the motto of the Rabmer Group. With our innovative products and technologies, we show that sustainability is the best choice.”
Glenn Mandziuk, CEO of the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance, said:
“We are pleased to welcome Rabmer Group to the Alliance. If we are to progress towards Net Positive Hospitality, we must work in close partnership with the innovative companies responsible for construction, renovation, and implementation of new environmental technology. Rabmer Group’s expertise in water stewardship and renewable energy will help inform future decision making and shape our vision for the next 5 years, and beyond.”
