About this programme

Our programme leverages the power of hotels to offer young people from any background the opportunity to earn a decent living.

What are we doing?

Through our Youth Employment programme, we give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds an opportunity to gain skills and practical experience that can help them find employment within the hospitality sector and beyond.
Through this project, our goal is to induct 370 young people across Delhi, Mumbai, Goa and Kolkata into our hospitality training programme. For most young people taking part in the programme, it is their first step into the professional world, leading towards financial security and meaningful careers in the long term.

Developing core employability skills

Trainees in the programme follow our accessible training curriculum to develop the core employability skills that are transferable for a career in any hotel in the industry and beyond.
When the pandemic was raging in India, we helped our implementing partners conduct all the trainings online so the students could continue learning new skills and were better prepared for the evolving job market.

Why India?

  • India has one of the largest populations of young people in the world. An estimated 500 million young people account for 50% of the country’s population.
  • The COVID-19 pandemic has led to reduced job security for many people across the country.
  • Unemployment impacts the lives of young people and is likely to widen the inequality gap within the country.

Where we are working

This programme started in one city in January 2021. We have now scaled up the programme to four cities – Delhi, Mumbai, Goa and Kolkata; with the potential to become a country-wide programme in future.
